The BGS participated in the ECOWEEK 2009 International Conference & Workshops (March 31 - April 6).
CONFERENCE: "KIFISSOS...the Athens river" project was presented at: "Papasotiriou Bookstore" and at the "ATHINAIS".
Both presentations of the Kifissos project were extremely well attended by enthusiastic participants.
In addition the project  received a lot of publicity  from ‘Kathimerini’, ‘Eleftheros Typos, ‘FAQ’, ‘Athens News’ and many other newspapers and magazines. Also Vassilis Zotos was interviewed several times by SKAI (both radio and TV), ‘the Voice of Greece’ (ERA 5 broadcasting worldwide for all the Greek communities abroad), ‘Athens International Radio-104.4 FM (in English), ‘Piraeus Municipal Radio-90.4 FM’, and quite a few more. Also, a number of publications are due out during May.

It is worth mentioning that the 20 minutes live interview on the ‘Voice of Greece’ produced a large number of e-mails, telephone calls, etc. from many Greeks living in various and far-away parts of the world.

An interesting and lengthy report on the Kifissos project has also been published in the "OTENET Portal".

WORKSHOPS: BGS president Vassilis Zotos and Constantine Vakiris (architect and urban designer) supported by Simon Rackham (landscape architect), both members of the BGS, led one of the workshops.The interdisciplinary workshops dealt with the former site of the international airport of Athens at Hellinikon.
